Housekeeping..

Today we've been busy - we delivered taco soup (so good and so easy!) to a friend who had a baby recently and then enjoyed a fun playdate with some other friends.

We've accomplished a few odd jobs as well...
cleaning the tea kettle, sanitizing cutting boards and the dish drainer. Isn't it amazing how those little things tend to never get accomplished? After spending what seemed like forever cleaning out my yucky fridge recently, I vowed to concentrate harder on housekeeping. I've been inspired reading Home Comforts : The Art and Science of Keeping Houselately. It's just one of those books I love. It has so many handy tips on everything you might need to know about keeping house but it is also inspiring..it encourages you to make your house a home and to love doing it.
On to the next tasks of our day...most importantly playing with baby, making yummy fajitas for dinner, and giving a piano lesson!

My small group from church is reading this one together. Has anyone else read Shepherding a Child's Heart?

Look What I Got!

One of my sisters got me this fun book for Christmas! I can't wait to try out a few of the fun filled activities! The nice thing about this book is that is has activities for ages 12 months to 10 years. We should be able to get a lot of use out of this. I'll be sure to let you know what we try!

Walgreens Bounty

Yesterday I just had to head over to Walgreens to get this deal! If you hurry you can make it today and get an awesome deal on Kellogg's products. Thanks to some coupons I had saved and the current special Walgreens is promoting, I got all this and actually will make some money after I send in the rebate!

BIG TIP: If your family is looking to save money head over to Money Saving Mom's blog. She keeps up with all the current deals and does all the work for you!

Finding those freebies

Awhile back I discovered free-attractions.com. This site lets you search throughout each state for free attractions! This would be fun to do for your own area or to find some free activities for any upcoming trips or vacations!

For more inexpensive tips visit Frugal Friday at Biblical Womanhood.

Visionary Parenting

Currently my husband and I have been listening to a series called Visionary Parenting through our church! I highly recommend this resource. You can even listen to FREE audio downloads from the website! It is really a great series.

If you desire to learn more about parenting and raising children as the Bible directs then check out Visionary Parenting. It really works for me! You can't beat free, high quality parenting advice!

Fun with the Family in Illinois

Yesterday while browsing at the library I found Around Chicago with Kids and Fun with the Family in Illinois, which both look like they could be helpful in finding some interesting things to do here in Illinois! I have enjoyed looking at the suggestions they give for towns around my house to see what I have been missing out on! If you have been wanting some new places to visit I suggest you look at your local library to see if you can get a copy of some books like these for your state!

Fun Website

Here is a fun website by Disney that you may enjoy! I really like that you can search for activities based on your child's age and even by their interests. This looks like it could be a great resource for the future!
