Crystal at Mom of Littles is pondering double strollers today and asking for input. This has been on my mind lately as well....
I don't plan on making any purchases before the baby is born. I think I'll wait until warmer weather arrives and see if I have the desire for one then. I'm thinking baby in a carrier and toddler on foot or in a stroller will work for awhile? Am I being overly ambitious here?! If I found a great deal on Craig's list or ebay I might change my mind but so far I don't see one calling my name.

My youngest 2 children are 20m apart and I used my double stroller OFTEN during the first year. At $35 on craigslist, this Graco duoglider was an awesome purchase!
However with my older children, 3 years apart, I only used my double jogging stroller for long walks and adventures like the zoo. My 3 year old was far too independent to be confined by the stroller for very long.
I think it depends on the child's temperament, the family's routines, and the age difference of the children. Oh, and the potential to get a great deal on craigslist!
Mommy Secrets:
Thanks so much for the advice! I really appreciate it! I think I'll keeping checking for deals but not hurry into buying anything.
Jamie,
I had been deliberating about the same thing. Monica never bought one, and just used their wagon when something was needed. But in our situation, being in a small town, we walk all the time. I'm able to walk to the park as well as several of my errand stops, so I felt it would be a good investment. I found a Graco--barely used--on Craigslist for $55, which was considerably cheaper than most I've seen around here. So we'll see what happens. I figure I'll be able to recoup the cost if I need to sell it, but I think we'll get a lot of use out of it. Time will tell!
