To continue our Friday series on Inexpensive Entertainment I want to share one of my absolute favorite cheap dates ideas - The Bookstore Date.
My husband and I head out to one of our local bookstores and just browse. We each grab a few books we are interested in and just spend time flipping through them and sharing what we have learned. To make things a little more interesting we have also played "find the weirdest book" and other such things. We give each other a time limit, agree to meet in a certain spot with the weirdest book we have come across, and then see who has the weirder book! It is always fun and always free! If you had a few dollars to spend you could easily grab a cup of hot chocolate and a muffin too!
Share your other cheap date ideas with me if you have a chance! I'd love to hear from you!

My kids love going to the bookstore as well. Whenever my son & I have a "date" he chooses the bookstore. You know, the one that has the train table in the kids section?! Gotta love a free outing. I'll have to remember that for a date night!
By the way, I found you through Frugal Friday.
I used to love doing this, but we live really far from bookstores now. It is a fun destination!
Thank you for your kind words about my blog. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
We love hanging out at the bookstore, too, but we've discovered it has to be Barnes & Noble--if we got to Half-Price Books we wind up actually *buying* the books. Safer yet is to go to the library. ;-)
Hi Ms. Jaime!
Going to the bookstore was a favorite dating idea before I fell in love with my husband. We would go to the children's section & select favorite books from childhood. Then we would find a corner chair or beanbag and read to one another.
I love this series & I look forward to reading more!
Mommysecrets: That is a cute idea! I like the childhood favorites! I'll have to try that!
Queen of Carrots: So true...last time we went I found a SUPER deal on some hardcover children's classics and could not pass them up!
Jen: I think that is so cute that your son chooses the bookstore as a date with Mom! How neat!
Carrie: That is one thing I like about living in the suburbs...you are never too far from a bookstore! ;-)
My hubby and I love to do date nights at our local Barnes and noble!
Great post!
